I hate being an artist.

People always say when I mention I hate being an artist that I chose it. Of course I’d like to have my work remembered but it is a career that simply takes over. OK I let it and for me that was just what happened. All or nothing.
I feel like I have donated my life, any type of sanitary , surroundings for a life of artistic poverty. Needless to say this life, the artist’s dream, gave me the luxury of painting whatever I like, whether you like it or not. Too bad I didn’t guess right. Here’s the fun part, whining.
Randow negative thoughts: OO, They hate my work, Mother was right. I’m not good. Hey, it’s a depressing career. Some of us buy into it. Why? Do I like punishment? An excessive amount? Why?
Because I was diagnosed with depression. Pills, no thanks, I’d rather cry and I did.
Another DR. he saw a painting, many years later, changed my diagnosis to dysthymia. That’s where depression = happiness and the rest of your days are in deeper gloom.
So to ease my dreariness I blog , paint and advocate for animals, draw scathing satirical pictures. Swear, and had my first temper tantrum. Few see except for 73 fans in the universe. They are my stars
Well when I was in the hospital for pneumonia, I was reassessed by another shrink. He walked in when I was practicing my one woman play with two characters, wearing a trench coat and bike helmet. He asked if I saw any bugs and I laughed. That did it. I read my chart, I was now manic depressive. I had joined the ranks of the Greats.
I also like political satire and am good at it. Almost 70, on my death bed, I can be good at everything.
Sorry ranting a bit.

Art Lessons: #1 Presentations and Considerations
Do your wall presentations have a sound structure? Examples inspired by algebraic thoughts are: 1+1= 3 or A Man without a Mate is like a Duo without the One.
Paintings on a wall can stand alone but gracefully pair up. Similarities or discordant views may stimulate gravitation. Groups then can change to groupings as well as collections.
Should a common theme introduce the collection or is electic a word you like?
Abstracts representing Objects-? Is that a guitar I see? A name can change everything.
Is the collection harmonious or randomly schizophrenic?

Do you consider yourself an art lover? Of course, You are here. and I bet you knew that Art is more than a color field to match the couch or fill a wall.
Good Art has vibrations that you can attune to or even raise your awareness. That’s the art that lasts throuh time. Art describes a time and place culturally. Art history is born from curators and educators studying civilization and the artifacts it left. It describes time periods and artists views of their surrounding worlds.
But where do we draw the line? Representational Abstracts ? Is this drawing musical? I think so. Does that negate it’s abstraction?[ Artists incorporate meaning as illustrated by themes, presentation and points of views. They do not have to entertain you, you do have a TV, yes but artists want to wake you up. Today there are multitudes of artists, so many that if you dumped a bunch, millions and lost them in the desert they wouldn’t be missed. This is far different than the era of Picasso and his cohorts. A mere handful set the rules and dictated your interpretations of art and style.
Well they died and who came next?
Million and billions of artists sprung up everywhere and so did art on line. Sites, portfolios, voting by the public, over twelve please, and friend rentals determined content and submissions. These in turn we generated by how fast an artist could produce new bodies of works and what fees they could afford. Of course you can turn a piece, 90 to 360 degrees. Yes it’s allowed. This is how art will be defined in the upcoming generations. Excuse me, you drew that with a pencil? Is that allowed? Read the rules, only computer gigantic work will be reviewed. Your name must be 6 feet high, at least and fees are determined by pixel count.

Abstract petit Paintings from German Exhibition and After, May in Munich 2015
I only mention these pieces were before Germany thats when Christopher Durr told Leni he wanted a piece. What an honor. His gallery is one of he oldest in Munich. He has taken chances on many new upcoming artists who have become successful. He knows art and loves abstract painting. So when he choose this piece and wanted it with such determinism and glee, I knew I had to give it to him and get on with my life as an abstract artist.
Selling small drawings as I have a lot and would like to have others enjoy them. Seeking money for alternative lung cancer treatment So make an offer if you like, none rejected, Be fair and think about what you can. I haven’t found a treatment yet as an alternative to Chemo so any ideas would gladly be taken.

A Tree grows in Brooklyn and Another Grew
and grew in Oak Park, Michigan and it grew. Granny reflects and chuckles. She pats her lap and suddenly 6 toddlers sit eagerly waiting to hear a story. Wait, not all are on her lap, one is on her shoulders.
When I was young my granny had a big tree in her front yard. This seed inspired me to greatness. It twirled through the air like a boomerang, circling around swatting me in the head again and again. Finally, Missy caught it and took it home.
Missy’s Mother lived in la la land, a subdivision of Oak Park, where she grew up. Her mom said she should plant the tree under her window.She was a good girl, obedient and did as she was told, and it grew and grew. Missy had a green thumb and could make anything grow. She fed it with love.
She attempted to tell her Mom but Mom’s glare summed it up.”Can’t you see; I’m on the phone” she hissed,”To the psychiatrist! Oh well, it grew through the roof. Then they moved the tree and the tree was very happy.
Granny went to Detroit and visited her tree. Too bad it was in the middle of the night and dark but she counted the steps from the sidewalk and found it. She said the stump was huge and four trunks surrounded the outside. She squished herself in through the trunks and stood in the center. How engulfing to merge with her gift to Nature once again.
However the nuts and bolts of this drama was no one got divorced in this era and it was a secret, frowned upon? Once a week Mom threw Dad’s clothes out onto the lawn, Dad ripped the phone off the wall, Missy cried in the park and her sister hid in the bathroom.
But that’s how life is, somethings come and go and we are O.K. Life isn’t a fairy tale, said Granny so lets’s make hot chocolate. I lived through it and look how strong I am. Then she picked up all six kids and balanced them, one on her head, one oh her left shin, One on her upper arms, right and left, and the last two balanced in her palms. Wow!
